It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing, on Nov. 29, of Kenneth Alan Frail, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Born in Newton, MA, Ken was the son of the late Donald P. Frail and Elizabeth S. Frail. He leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years, Eileen Mary (Grella) Frail, his four sons, Charles, Stephen, Chris, and Brian, and seven grandchildren who brought him immense joy and happiness.
Ken was a long-time resident of Newton, where he was an active member of the community and a dedicated parishioner. He was a graduate of Newton High School and the University of Massachusetts, He was an active member of the Central Congregationalist Church in Newtonville for many years and cherished that community.
Professionally, Ken dedicated his entire career to the United States Census Bureau, where he was recognized for his diligence and commitment. He served with honor in the U.S. Army Reserves, achieving the status of marksman.
Ken was a true gentleman and a gentle man, known for his kindness and integrity. He had a deep love for his family, his church, and his hometown. A passionate sports fan, he was a devoted supporter of the Boston sports teams, and especially the Celtics.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 6, at 11 am at Second Church in Newton United Church in Christ to celebrate Ken's life. Visitation will be held at Magni Funeral Home in Newton, Thursday, December 5, from 4 to 7 pm. The family respectively requests that no flowers be sent, and that those wishing to honor Ken do so by making a donation to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
