Bennington, Cesidia 'Jo'.jpg

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Cesidia “Jo” Bennington (formerly Antonellis), a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and great aunt who left us early Saturday morning, Nov. 23, surrounded by her loving family. Cesidia was born in San Donato Val di Comino, Italy, and at the age of 4, her family emigrated to the United States, settling in Nonantum, affectionately known as "The Lake," in Massachusetts.

Cesidia was the cherished daughter of the late Anna and Giuseppe Antonellis and the devoted sister of Costanzo Antonellis and late wife Anna Antonellis and Loreto Antonellis and wife Judy Antonellis. She was the loving wife of Michael Bennington Sr. and a proud mother to Michael Bennington Jr. and Antonia Bennington.

Her life was enriched by her extended family, which included her treasured nephews, Ricky Antonellis, Walter Hathaway, Kevin Bentley, Loreto Antonellis, Spencer Aguiar, Derek Paparo, and Dante Paparo, and her dear nieces, Jessica Paparo, Melissa Hathaway, Heather Waterman, Natasha Antonellis, Nadia Antonellis, and Giulia Fabrizio. Cesidia was a source of strength and joy to all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and warmth.

Jo cherished the many friendships she made during her career at Whole Foods Market in Newtonville.

Her memory will be forever etched in the hearts of her family, friends, and the close-knit community of Nonantum, where she lived a life filled with kindness, generosity, and deep connection. Jo was a mother to all whose door was always open and was always willing to lend a hand in friendship.

Services to honor Cesidia's life will be held at the Magni Funeral Home, 365 Watertown St in Newton, Massachusetts on Tuesday, November 26 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm and again Wednesday morning at 9am,  followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady's Parish, 573 Washington St in Newton from 10:30am - 11:30am.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to American Cancer Society or Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, Massachusetts, reflecting her giving spirit.

She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
